Spanish immigration procedure
Student stay, initial or extension
You are going to study in Spain, or you are already studying here and your permit is running out. We take care of the whole procedure, whether it is the first application or the extension (what many people call a renewal), with the fees included in the price and checking that your case fits before charging you anything. Each one is a separate application and is filed separately.
Fees
€299 incl. VAT
VAT and immigration fee included. Does not include apostilles or legalisations, sworn translations, consular fees, the card fee (TIE) or the immigration office appointment.
- We check requirements and deadlines before charging you
- We only ask for the documents for your case, whether it is the first application or the extension
- We file the application and follow the case through to the decision
Is this your case?
- You are going to study in Spain and need your stay to be in order.
- You are already studying here, your permit is running out and you have to extend your stay.
- You already have an enrolment or a letter of admission from an authorised institution.
- You can prove the financial means needed to support yourself during your studies.
For these cases it is a different procedure
- You have already finished your studies and have an employment contract: the right procedure is the change to residence and work, not this one.
If you are not sure, take the test and we'll tell you which one applies to you.
How it works
-
We check your case before charging you
You answer the questionnaire on this page in a minute and we verify that your situation fits this route. If it doesn't, we tell you before you pay anything.
-
We tell you exactly which papers you need
You receive your list of documents for your case, first application or extension, and we review it with you before filing.
-
We file and follow your application
We file the application, let you know at every change of status and you can check how your case is going whenever you like from your portal.
Check whether your case fits
Before charging you anything. It is a few questions and we tell you whether we can handle it or whether it is better to review it in a consultation.
We have already reviewed your case in your consultation.
You don't need to tell us anything again: go straight to your details and we apply your €50 discount when you pay.
Enter the code we emailed you and go straight to your details, without answering anything.
Which documents you need
To process your student stay we need these documents:
- Valid passport or travel document, recognised as valid in Spain, valid for at least one year.
- Documents proving that you have the financial means needed for the period requested and for the return to your country of origin. This can be proven with a bank balance certificate stating that those funds will be available in Spain.
- Documents proving that you have health insurance. Attach the policy and the general conditions.
- Documents proving that you have been admitted to a higher or post-compulsory education institution or centre, and that you have paid the enrolment or registration fees.
- If the stay is longer than six months and you are of criminal age, criminal record certificate issued by the authorities of your country of origin or of the country where you have lived during the last five years.
This is the list for the first application. If what you need is to extend the stay you already have, the documents are different (a shorter list, without the criminal record certificate): the questionnaire on this page tells you which applies to you.
You don't need to have everything today: when you hire us we send you this list and review it with you.
Frequently asked questions
Enough income or savings to support yourself during your studies. We tell you the exact amount, linked to the IPREM index, in the questionnaire on this page.
If you are still in your country, the student stay is applied for as a visa at the consulate: that is a different scenario and is not covered by this pack. We recommend a consultation to assess your specific case.
We check it in the questionnaire on this page, which tells you whether you are within the deadline before charging you anything. For the extension there is a filing window around the expiry date: if yours falls outside it, we tell you right there.
Studies or training at an authorised institution. The route is designed for higher and post-compulsory education, so if your training is of another kind we check it with you before charging you anything.
You need it to file the application. If you are still in the process of obtaining it, write to us and we'll guide you.
