Sworn translation

Sworn translation of documents

To submit a certificate issued in another country in Spain you almost always need to translate it, and the translation has to be official. It is done by a sworn translator appointed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who signs and stamps the translation and vouches that it says the same as the original. Here you see the price of your document before ordering anything.

Fees

from €59

VAT included. Does not include apostilles or legalisations, sworn translations, consular fees, the card fee (TIE) or the immigration office appointment.

Is this your case?

  • You have a certificate from another country in Arabic, Chinese, French, English, Italian, Portuguese or Russian and you are asked for a Spanish translation for an immigration, nationality or civil registry procedure.
  • You have already apostilled or legalised your document and now you need the translation: the apostille is translated too, and it is included in the price.
  • You are our client and one of the documents on your list comes from your country: you can order it from your case and we leave it there translated.
  • You need several documents translated and want to know what it all costs together, without waiting for a quote.

For these cases it is a different procedure

  • Your document is in another language: write to us and we'll tell you whether we can find you a sworn translator.
  • What you need is the apostille or legalisation of the original document: that is requested in the country that issued it or at its consulate, and it comes before the translation.
  • You need an interpreter for an appointment or a hearing: that is interpreting, not translation, and is quoted separately.
  • Your document is a long file, an uncertified document or a long document in Chinese or Russian: the fixed price is for what you see in the table. For anything else, write to us and we'll look at it.

If you are not sure, take the test and we'll tell you which one applies to you.

How it works

  1. You choose the document and see the price

You tell us which document it is and which language it is in. The price depends on both and appears instantly, fixed and per document: no pages or words are counted. If you need several translated, you add them and see the total.

  2. You send us the original

Then we give you a personal link to upload the document from your phone. A sharp photo or a PDF is enough: what the translator needs is to read it in full, stamps and apostille included.

  3. The sworn translator signs and stamps it

The translation is done by a sworn translator appointed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who certifies with their signature and stamp that it is faithful and accurate. That is what makes it official before the Administration.

  4. You have it in your case

We email you as soon as it is ready and you download it from your case whenever you like, together with your invoice. If you were a client and the document was on your list, it is also marked as done there.

Frequently asked questions

A translation with official status. It is signed and stamped by a Sworn Translator appointed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, who certifies that it is faithful and accurate to the original. It is what the Administration accepts when the document is not in Spanish.

Almost always yes, and that step comes before and is separate from the translation: the apostille is issued by the country that issued the document. What we do is translate the apostille as well, at no extra charge.

A sharp copy is enough for translating: the translator works on what is sent and states so. Whether they also want to see the original paper is up to the body you submit it to, so keep it.

No. Official translations by a Sworn Translator are exempt from legalisation when they are to take effect before Spanish public administrations.
