Spanish immigration procedure

Arraigo extension

You already have an arraigo granted and your card is running out. The extension doesn't ask you again for the two years or the integration report: what you now have to prove is that you still meet the requirement of your route. We check which one is yours before charging you anything.

Fees

€299 incl. VAT

VAT and immigration fee included. Does not include apostilles or legalisations, sworn translations, consular fees, the card fee (TIE) or the immigration office appointment.

  • We check that you still meet what your route requires before charging you
  • We only ask for the documents for your case, not a generic list
  • We file the extension and follow the case through to the decision
Check whether my case fits

Is this your case?

  • You have been granted a social, work, training or second-chance arraigo (or a permit on exceptional grounds under the second additional provision) and your card is about to expire or has just expired.
  • If your arraigo was social, work or second chance: you are registered as a jobseeker, or you cannot work because of illness, disability or having reached retirement age and you can prove it.
  • If it was for training: you have moved up to the second year of your basic or intermediate vocational training, or you have already finished the training and are registered as a jobseeker.
  • If your permit was on exceptional grounds under the second additional provision: the reasons for which it was granted still apply.

For these cases it is a different procedure

  • You have a family arraigo: that route is not extended through this procedure, it has its own regime. Write to us and we'll look at it in a consultation.
  • The reasons behind your permit on exceptional grounds no longer apply: in that case it is not extended but changed under article 191. That is a different procedure and we quote it separately.
  • Your card expired more than three months ago: outside that period we need to study what options you have left before filing anything.

If you are not sure, take the test and we'll tell you which one applies to you.

How it works

  1. We check that you still qualify

You answer the questionnaire on this page and, before charging you anything, we tell you whether you still meet the requirement of your route and whether you are within the deadline, or whether it is better to see a lawyer first.

  2. We ask only for your documents

Each route proves different things: jobseeker registration, continuation of training or proof that your circumstances persist. You receive the list for your specific case, not a generic one.

  3. We file and follow your application

We prepare the application on the EX-10 form, file it within the deadline and keep you informed at every step until the decision.

Check whether your case fits

Before charging you anything. It is a few questions and we tell you whether we can handle it or whether it is better to review it in a consultation.

Enter the code we emailed you and go straight to your details, without answering anything.

Which documents you need

To process the extension of your arraigo we need these documents:

  1. Complete copy of your valid passport.
  2. Copy of your TIE (front and back).
  3. Decision of the last grant, if possible. If you no longer have it, tell us and we'll locate it.

On top of these come the documents specific to your case (jobseeker registration, continuation of training or proof that your circumstances persist, depending on the route). The questionnaire on this page tells you which applies to you.

You don't need to have everything today: when you hire us we send you this list and review it with you.

Frequently asked questions

Within the window that runs from 60 days before your card expires to 90 days after. Filing too early or too late complicates the file, so the first thing we check in the questionnaire is your date.

No. The two years and the integration report are requirements of the initial grant, and you proved them then. The extension looks forward: what you have to show is that you still meet the requirement of your route.

Yes, as long as you are actively looking for work, which is proven with an active jobseeker registration. It is also valid if you cannot take up employment for a justified reason such as illness, disability or having reached retirement age.

A report from your centre certifying that you have moved up to the second year, if your training is basic or intermediate vocational training. If you finished the training before the year ended, the diploma or certificate obtained together with an active jobseeker registration is valid.

It is worth providing it, but if you no longer have it that is not an obstacle: tell us and we'll locate it. What is always needed is your complete valid passport and your TIE, both sides.

The application goes on the official EX-10 form, the same as the initial grant, and carries the extension fee for exceptional grounds. The price on this page includes our fees and that government fee; the apostille and sworn translation of your foreign documents are not included.
